Superintendent

Dr. Lesley Austin is a dedicated educational leader with over two decades of experience in Texas public education. She began her career after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in 2001, serving in various teaching and instructional roles within the Dallas Independent School District. During her time there, she also participated in the prestigious Principal Fellows Program.

In 2005, Dr. Austin joined Maypearl ISD, where she contributed as a teacher and coach, inspiring students both inside and outside the classroom. She earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2009, along with principal certification, equipping her to take on leadership roles within education.

In 2013, Dr. Austin returned to Maypearl ISD as the Junior High principal, and in 2016, she was appointed as the High School principal. She completed her Doctor of Education degree from Lamar University in 2017, further deepening her expertise in educational leadership. Her passion for academic excellence and operational efficiency led her to accept the position of Chief of School Operations, then Chief Academic Officer, and eventually Deputy Superintendent for Trinity Basin Preparatory in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in 2018.

In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Austin served her community as an elected member of the Maypearl ISD Board of Trustees from 2020 to 2023.

Dr. Austin is passionate about creating a supportive, collaborative environment where students and staff thrive. She strongly believes in the power of partnerships between schools, families, and the community to ensure the success of all learners.
